Our Values

Three commitments that guide our ministry

Alpha and Omega Holiness Church of Jesus Christ is a fellowship of believers united by conviction and purpose. For over 25 years, we have lived out core values that shape how we worship together, pray in unity, and serve our community. Grounded in Scripture. Grounded in love. Grounded in the Holy Spirit's leading.

Value 01

Rooted in Scripture

We believe the Bible is the living word of God. It is not a book we admire from a distance, and it is not a collection of suggestions we work around when life gets complicated. It is the voice of a God who still speaks, and we shape our teaching, our counsel, and our shared life around what it says.

That conviction shows up in the most ordinary parts of our week. Sunday sermons walk through whole books of the Bible, not just the verses that are easy to preach. Pastoral leadership opens with Scripture before strategy. Our prayer and worship times center on passages that challenge us to grow deeper in faith and unity.

We are not interested in being trendy. We are interested in being faithful, and that means staying anchored to a text that is older than every cultural mood and steadier than every season. When we get tired or confused, the Bible is where we go back to remember who God is and who we are.

Value 02

Rooted in Community

The church is not a building we attend. It is a family we belong to. The earliest believers were not described as people who went to a service once a week. They were described as people who shared meals, shared homes, shared burdens, and could not be understood apart from one another.

That picture still shapes us. Sundays are how we gather in worship together, but they are not the whole of our witness. Most of our real life happens in prayer circles on Tuesday nights and at kitchen tables on Thursdays, where we read Scripture, pray for one another, and tell the truth about what is actually going on at home and at work.

Hospitality is not a program for us. It is a posture. We try to be the kind of church where the new person on a Sunday gets walked to fellowship, where the family in a hard season gets meals without having to ask, and where nobody is left to walk the Christian life alone.

Value 03

Rooted in Service

Alpha and Omega Holiness Church moves outward in love and action. What we have received freely, we give freely, and that calling extends beyond our walls into Angleton. A church that only tends itself has lost sight of its purpose. Our community is our neighbor, and our neighbor is our charge.

For us that means showing up where need is already present. We partner with local schools to support students in reading and learning. We serve monthly meals at community outreach centers. We send teams to stock the food pantry, and we maintain a care fund so members can quietly help neighbors with rent, utilities, and medical bills. No one asks who helped-just that help arrived.

None of this is flashy, and that is exactly the point. We are not counting metrics. We are striving to be the kind of family that arrives with a meal, willing hands, and a free afternoon when someone nearby is walking through hardship. That is what grace looks like with shoes on.

Watch and pray in unity and love

These values lived out together

Since 2001, Alpha and Omega Holiness Church of Jesus Christ has gathered in Angleton to worship, intercede, and grow in faith as one family. Under the leadership of Overseer Gladys M Law, Pastor Christie R Mangum, and Co-Pastor Tawana Jones Lewis, we invite you to experience what Spirit-filled community looks like in action.
